If we can’t save the Serengeti, how can we protect any great natural treasure into the 21st Century?
The Serengeti is a test – losing it will be a serious precedent on how we balance human needs with the wild natural treasures we have left on earth. The loss of the Serengeti as a World Heritage Site will have a cascading effect – there will be no great example to point to, no great bulwark of conservation to emulate.
