The Community Art Showcase at the AMA



October 5 – November 13, 2011

The Community Art Showcase is your opportunity to celebrate the vitality of visual art in Arlington. You are invited to participate in this annual event to display one or two of your artistic creations in the Arlington Museum of Art during the month of October. This is not a juried exhibition so all artwork which meets our eligibility criteria will be included in the show.

Free basic classes in drawing, watercolor, oil & calligraphy

We heard about it this one on Moonlady News and wanted to share it with our followers too!


The Irving Art Association offers free basic art classes for adults to get you started in art or in a new medium. Location: Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, Irving. Held on Thursday evenings from 7 - 9 pm. To register use the new online registration form. Pyrography Video

So, yeah, I was messing around with Windows Live Movie Maker and put together this video of some of the Pyrography pieces Emily and I have done in the past year or so set to the awesome music of Kyle MacConnell who we first met at Health and Harmony House when he was performing live for an open mic night there. Then later he also provided the live music for an Art Auction held there which is when we asked his permission to use some of his music for a project like this.
Anyway, here's the result:



There is also a paintings one in the works but Em has 6 more paintings (I think she said 6) at any rate there's some new stuff in the studio that she's not quite ready to unveil yet. When those are ready we'll add them to the paintings video and get it posted up. So, enjoy and please share! :)

Girl Show Tonight

Tonight's the big night for The Girl Show and we'll be heading down there with our friends John and Wendy to check out some of the local talent. If you haven't got your tickets yet be sure to GET THEM NOW online while you can for $10 or you'll have to pay $15 at the gate.

Well, The Girl Show is an annual show by ArtLoveMagic which is dedicated to all the talented local women. Creative sisterhoods of art, fashion, music, poetry, dance, photography and sculpture are featured in this one night celebration. For 2011 girlShow will be on Saturday, JULY 23rd, from 8pm to 12am.

LIFE in Deep Ellum at 2803 Taylor Street, Dallas, TX 75226 will be hosting again this year, with one of the premier stages in the Deep Ellum area, an inviting lounge area, and lots of room so we can come out and bask in the light of these creative sisters of Dallas.

girlShow is ArtLoveMagic’s yearly show dedicated all to women. Our purpose is to showcase new and uniquely talented female artists of various mediums and performances along with established, experienced female artists within the same room as they create live and sometimes collaboratively. It will feature live music, poetry, art, fashion, dance, sculpture, and photography, all being celebrated in one incredible night. This diverse presentation keeps audiences engaged from beginning to end during this four hour event. This year girlShow will be on Saturday, JULY 23rd, from 8pm to 12am.

We the artist each paid $100 bucks to put together our show. The money
covers our expenses. Building walls, paying rent at space, supplying
food and drinks for the masses, fliers and web development, promotions
and advertising, sound equipment...Were looking for sponsers for this
year and next years show! Donations well appreciated..

Website almost done and the10,000 fliers are close to printing. Write
up going in fortworth weekly soon . "Convoy and the cattle men" are
playing the show!!!

Everyday Revolution is now seeking an outdoor venue for UNSILENT SPRING, a festival to bring awareness to pesticide usage, organic gardening, and rainforest destruction. They welcome participants as performers, artists, speakers, and volunteers to help give something back to both our community and nature. UnSilent Spring will benefit Everyday Revolution, The Promise Kept (Homeless Assistance) and UncontactedTribes.org (Indigenous People and Rainforest Protection)

Burning Inspirations

We met this guy, Kyle MacConnell, who is an amazing musician by the way. He played the didgeridoo and guitar at the same time while our good friend Manda Sims danced. Anyway they were all performing at Health and Harmony House for their Valentines Day Dinner Party which we went to and thoroughly enjoyed. So Kyle passed out some informational pieces about his upcoming shows and told us about this awesome event that is coming up:
